Just a perfect couple of days. We entered the apartment and felt home right away. Everything has been thougt of!

Lomba D´Água es una maravilloso sitio en la que encuentras una tranquilidad y paz. La sauna y después la jacuzzi con vistas al mar ó por la noche contemplar las estrellas es todo un espectáculo. Nos hemos alojado en la casa do Galocha y pudimos disfrutar de la desconexión sin perder un ápice de comodidad. La casa está muy bien equipada con todo detalle, muy confortable, y decorada con mucho gusto. La cama muy cómoda, y la limpieza sobresaliente; del 1 al 10, sin duda le doy un 11.
Estamos deseando poder volver para seguir disfrutando de esta sitio...

Cantinho do Avo is stunningly beautiful and peaceful with amazing sea views. We have stayed twice and will do so again on our next visit to Sao Miguel.

The house is beautifully decorated and has everything you need to relax and enjoy the outdoors as well as cook a meal and enjoy it on the terrace. Helder provides wines for purchase and there is a nearby grocery store within walking distance. If you cross the road towards the sea and follow the dirt roads, you will end up at a beautiful viewing area for the sunset. Don't miss it!

The home is well stocked with goodies for breakfast and has daily bread delivery providing more than enough to prepare breakfast and lunch sandwiches. With daily cleaning, it is sparkling clean and you will be well cared for by Natalina who comes into clean and tidy up the space. She will also do laundry for a small fee.

Helder and Seraphina are wonderful hosts. On our first visit Helder secured VIP tickets for us to view the road rally. He provided maps and guides as well. On our second visit, we were able to check in a day early when our other accommodations did now work out as planned. They arranged for early cleaning order to accommodate our last minute need which was so sweet as they were on another island enjoying time away.

You are very close to the hike around the Sete Cidades over the caldera and Mosteiros seaside fun and the drive into Ponta Delgada is very reasonable if you want to dine there. Getting around the island is simple and you can explore it all from this lovely home.

Hands down the best rental home we’ve had the pleasure of staying at. We have stayed at numerous AirBnBs, VRBO properties, boutique hotels and even a resort or two, and O Cantinho da Avó easily wins the best hospitality award. We had several questions before our stay, and Serafina and Helder provided prompt and helpful responses. They also arranged an early morning airport transfer for our friend who departed a day before we did. And when we asked if there was a fresh fish market nearby, they offered to meet us at the best market in Ponta Delgada to help us shop! They are outstanding and special hosts!

We rented both apartments for 3 nights (wish we had stayed longer!). Our family of 3 in the 2BR, and 2 friends in the 1BR. One of our friends eats a gluten-free diet, and the hosts kindly brought gluten-free bread in addition to the overly generous daily bread delivery. We were able to check in an hour earlier than the usual check-in time, and we found an extremely clean home with all amenities you could ask for, including a full kitchen which we enjoyed cooking in one night. In addition, they provide a wonderful welcome package that included bolo levedos, local jams and delicious cheese, a fruit basket, a large bottle of water, and wine! The refrigerator was also stocked with some provisions (choices of milk, beer, butter, etc.), which we did not expect.

During our stay, Natalina, the cleaning lady, was also super accommodating and helpful. She did a great job keeping our apartments tidy and everything replenished as needed.

The newly remodeled and extended property is nicely situated on a hill with a view of the southwestern side of São Miguel. Some spectacular sunsets and stargazing were had from the hot tub and backyard. We also enjoyed dining alfresco on the lower deck area. The rooms were spacious and well thought-out. Each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom including towel-warmers. The beds were very comfortable with a choice of pillow firmness. I was also pleasantly surprised to find a safe in the closet.

The west side of São Miguel has some great places to visit, e.g., Ferraria ocean thermal pools, Mosteiros, and the proximity to Sete Cicades allowed us to be flexible when visiting that area, given the predictable unpredictability of the weather (it was amazing to see in both immense fog and with full sun).

We will not hesitate to stay at Grandmother’s Corner for our next visit to São Miguel. Thanks again, Serafina and Helder!

Just wanted to say what a wonderful, relaxing stay we had in your property on the 4th August for 6 nights. Beautifully designed, spacious building that was a pleasure to return to each night after exploring around Sao Miguel. Superbly located on the Island, views from the bedroom windows each morning are stunning.
The detail in the house is beautiful. The cleanest house we’ve ever stayed in. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Unser Aufenthalt in dieser wunderschönen Anlage liegt nun schon knapp vier Wochen hinter uns.
Die Anlage besteht aus einer größeren Wohnung, die im Außenbereich über 2 Terrassen, einem Jacuzzi und einer Außenküche verfügt und einem kleineren Apartement mit einer Terrasse.
Wir hatten das kleinere Appartement für 2 Personen angemietet.
Bereits der Empfang war sehr herzlich. So standen bei der Ankunft Wein, Wasser, Milch, Kaffee, Käse und Gebäck bereit. Die Einrichtung war sehr geschmack- und liebevoll. Es fehlte quasi an nichts.
Die Gastgeber Serafina and Helder waren äußerst freundlich, wussten viele Fragen zu beantworten und organisierten sogar frischen Fisch auf Nachfrage.
Das gesamte Wohlfühlpaket rundete die gute Seele Natalina ab, die uns morgens mit frischen Brötchen versorgte, die Wohnung stets tipp topp reinigte und sogar die Wäsche erledigte.

My husband and I loved our stay at Cantinho da Avo. The house was beautiful decorated and immaculately clean. The location was perfect, too. Very easy to get everywhere and the views were spectacular. Serafina and Helder were wonderful to work with and we loved all the care and the fresh bread Nataliana brought. Highly recommended!

Firstly the accommodation was beautifully decorated, spacious and even better than on photos. If you want to visit the whole island the location is quite great if you want peaceful night sleep. When we came to the property they welcomed us with a bottle of wine, basket of fruits, fresh bread, cheese and other things. I can honestly say that staff and owners of this place are the best that I ever had and believe me I traveled a lot. Every day you get a fresh hot bread, your apartment cleand ( really really cleaned) and everything it is tightened up for the time you arrive.

You have a great market really close, you can be in Ponta Delgada in 20min tops. The Airport is 15min away too. I've been to the most expensive and exclusive hotels around the world and I booked this accommodation because all the other ones were unavailable and believe me when I say this is the best one I have ever visited especially for this value of money.

Don't waste your money on big hotels on this Island this is the true thind to enjoy every moment on amazing Sao Miguel

We loved everything about this property , beautifully decorated, had all the amenities you could ask for , and Sarafina and Heldar were wonderful as was Natalina (not sure I have her name right but she was beyond great) We will return here when we visit San Miguel in the future.

During this short period of time we could enjoy the true and tremendous beauty the Azores have to offer, after which each evening we could go back and relax at the house. Its beautiful interior and spectacular location made us feel at home. Daily cleaning and daily fresh bread made it even more enjoyable. We were warmly welcomed and couldn't imagine our stay being any better than it was. We really enjoyed our stay, first class.

Ein wunderschönes Haus in toller Aussichtslage. Die Gastgeber sind sehr nett und haben uns mit einem vollen Kühlschrank, einer Flasche Wein und frischem Obst begrüßt. Der Service war super. Jeden Morgen wurden frische Brötchen gebracht, gefrühstückt wurde auf der schönen Terasse. Ein zusätzlicher Garten mit Whirlpool ist ebenfalls noch vorhanden. Zur Freude unserer Kinder gab es ein gut funktionierendes Wlan. Einfach ein Haus in dem man sich wohlfühlt.

We loved everything! Serafina and Helder have thought about every possible convenience a guest could ever imagine! Luxury in the middle of an idyllic and peaceful setting.

Everything was ABOVE + BEYOND all expectations. The architecture, the design and style, the consideration of every detail... Just wow. We received a very warm welcome from the super sweet Netalina who was extremely attentive and nearby daily to make our stay extra special. Every morning she left fresh bread from the bakery on our doorstep, and while we went out to explore she would come in to clean the entire place, even doing the dishes and our laundry!

We were completely blown away and felt treated like royalty. The house itself is charming and full of comforts: Expresso machine, luxury bathroom / shower, and the MOST comfortable bed we have ever slept on. We didn't want to leave this lovely sanctuary... Loved every second of it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND :)

We loved staying one week this July (4 kids, 2 adults)! The full house for 6 people - composed of 3 connected buildings - is in a quiet street with sea view and a small garden. We were positively surprised by the level of luxury and all small details in the entire and modern house! Even more beautiful and better equipped than home!!! The sleeping rooms are huge and personally decorated, the beds are of very high quality, the terrace was great to eat while watching the sea away. Bathrooms were beautiful too.

It's close to food shopping (supermarket at walking distance), beaches, hot springs, mountains etc... a great central location to visit the west part of the island. Serafina our host and her husband were great in welcoming us, warmly giving us their best local tips of places to do to, and where to eat. They also helped us when searching for a car repair, and fishing trips. They have a few very good wine bottles for sell to guests too.

The new jaccuzzi in the garden is a brilliant moment when evenings get a little cool, we loved it :) Daily cleaning by Natalina was a treat as she's both discrete and very professional, and she brought us fresh bread in the morning for breakfast. The service and comfort of a hotel, with a house for your own! We enjoyed every day there when waking up! It's very big for 6 people (probably close to 250 m2).

We would definitely recommend it and come back! It's a like a best kept secret! Tks and good luck to Serafina and Helder for making our stay so special :)
